Clarice Wernicke graduated from West Technical High School, and was a member of Gamma Sigma sorority. She was also the daughter of a florist. She is described as the ideal May Queen because of her unobtrusive nature. She was also a hard worker, with an attractive personality. She was dependable and refined in manner.
